The olympic team trials for wrestling was this last weekend. Winner goes to the olympics. The rest go home. Wrestling isn’t like the NFL. You take 2nd at the olympic team trials? Time to find a day job buddy. So what if you were a world champ in 2023? The sacrifices are intense, and they don’t always pay off. If you have a solid job you probably make more than 90% of these guys. The tournament made me think about my own life. Am I going as hard as these guys on my own goals?
On a similar note, I just found out John Smith’s complete wrestling record doesn’t exist online. This is the wrestling equivalent of not having Barry Bonds’ baseball record/stats. Very bizarre. I’m starting a project around this idea. It probably won’t make money, but I think it will be interesting.
I got a gym membership at Lifetime in an attempt to join the upper echelon of Phoenix society. On my first day I accidentally went to a 55+ workout class. I didn’t do much hobnobbing, but I looked like an absolute athlete in comparison.

You’re going to see me living in one of these out in the woods pretty soon. This is a review on Home Depot’s website: “Panoramic Views! Amazingly simple to build. Construction took only one-quarter of the time estimated did to design simplicity. And the views! The patented see-through walls are a technical wonder! I did have to have some curtains in the bathroom though, as per my neighbors request. Note: probably not a home that's suitable for those living in Alaska.” Kind of sketch that his neighbors had to tell him to put curtains up in the bathroom.

This house sold for $5.5 million. I saw this recently on a house in Phoenix where they spent like $750k in renovations and the place only sold for $1.25 million. When I was a mortgage banker we always had to be careful with clients over valuing their house based on renovations. They would think their house was worth $100k more because they spent $100k on cabinets. I had a few loans fall through because some didn’t want to be more reasonable with the value.

This house is in Toledo, OH. Forget the Home Depot tiny house. This place looks a little more cozy. This could be in the hood for all I know, but a quick Google search is making Toledo look pretty nice.
